Raised in Denver, Colorado, Jennie Boucneau is an abstract painter who explores her cultural identity and what it means to be an adopted Asian American woman living in the United States. Her work challenges the idea of fetishizing Asian American women and how it has evolved through the past century. Boucneau graduated from the University of Colorado, Denver, earning a BFA in Painting and Drawing. She has exhibited her work in a group exhibition at Emmanual Art Gallery, and won multiple Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Outside her studies, other interests include digital painting, fitness, and rock climbing. Boucneau looks forward to challenging society's views of Asian American women and hope to make a difference.
