Art History

Born in 1991 in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado, Tatum (née Romero) Meinert has always appreciated creative minds and their work. Tatum will be graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Colorado in Denver with a Bachelor of Art History in May 2020. Her time at the Denver Art Museum, first as a volunteer Staff Aid for the School Group Reception Department in 2017, and more recently as Curatorial Intern to Rebecca R. Hart, the Vicki and Kent Logan Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, has afforded her valuable insight into museum studies and the dynamic work of a curator. Tatum hopes to implement this experience in her future career at a museum. Tatum’s research interests include Dutch Baroque art, as well as European and Mexican modernism. Her thesis will explore the decline of Dutch Still-Life, from vanitas to “pronkstilleven.” After graduation Tatum will move on to graduate school, after which she hopes to cultivate a career in museum work.
